Relevant Life

1Jn 5:13 I’ve written this to those who believe in the Son of God so that they will know that they have eternal life.
1Jn 5:14 We are confident that God listens to us if we ask for anything that has his approval.
1Jn 5:15 We know that he listens to our requests. So we know that we already have what we ask him for.
1Jn 5:16 If you see another believer committing a sin that doesn’t lead to death, you should pray that God would give that person life. This is true for those who commit sins that don’t lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I’m not telling you to pray about that.
1Jn 5:17 Every kind of wrongdoing is sin, yet there are sins that don’t lead to death.
1Jn 5:18 We know that those who have been born from God don’t go on sinning. Rather, the Son of God protects them, and the evil one can’t harm them.
1Jn 5:19 We know that we are from God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
1Jn 5:20 We know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we know the real God. We are in the one who is real, his Son Jesus Christ. This Jesus Christ is the real God and eternal life.
1Jn 5:21 Dear children, guard yourselves from false gods

There is a message that every believer should know and remember. It is important that we place our hope and faith in this message. This passage gives us several secrets for us to know and to keep within our hearts.

1. Those who believe in the Son of God have Eternal Life. Jesus rose again from the grave which gives us hope of eternal life through Him.

2. God listens to our prayers and requests that are of his approval.

3. There are sins that don’t lead to death. We can pray for each other which help against sins being committed. We are commissioned to help each other through our sinful nature.

4. Believers don’t practice sin or keep sinning in the same sin.

5. Jesus, through Holy Spirit, protects us from the evil one who tries to overcome with evil notions.

6. We are under the authority and power of the living God. The sheltering of the Lord protects from the evil one of this world.

7. So we know because the Lord has given us His understanding and Knowledge. Only through Holy Spirit can we know the true God.

8. We are called to defend ourselves from false gods and the evil one.
