Luk 24:45  And He opened their mind to understand the Scriptures.

Luk 24:46  And He said to them, So it is written, and so it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

Luk 24:47  and that repentance and remission of sins should be proclaimed in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Luk 24:48  And you are witnesses of these things.

Luk 24:49  And behold, I send the promise of My father on you. But you sit in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.

Can you imagine how their disciples felt? Their beloved master was murdered by the religious of the day. Their faith was at an all time low and their memory of Jesus’ teachings was loss due to a grieving heart. Then out of nowhere Jesus appears before them, eats with them, and speaks the word of God to them. Their eyes are opened to the truth and their faith is restored in their resurrected master.

Jesus reminds the disciples that they are witnesses of his resurrection and now the must be those witnesses to the world. The master was releasing the disciple into the world. He prepared them and told them to get ready. Get ready to receive his power and get ready to demonstrate his power and message to the world.

I hear the Lord say that to me this morning. His words were simple. Every believer repent from the sins that hold them back. Lay aside all addictions. Pray without ceasing and get ready for what is to come. The time for soaking will now turn to the time of doing. We will draw life from our relationship with the Lord and with each other.

The message was simple, I know. His message is simple and true. Get ready! Get Ready! for more is to come. Be prepared!
