Jude 1:20-23 GW
(20)  Dear friends, use your most holy faith to grow. Pray with the Holy Spirit’s help.
(21)  Remain in God’s love as you look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you eternal life.
(22)  Show mercy to those who have doubts.
(23)  Save others by snatching them from the fire of hell. Show mercy to others, even though you are afraid that you might be stained by their sinful lives.

I like keeping things simple. God’s word is not hard to understand nor are the prophecies so hard to decipher. Holy Spirit is our guide and explains to us God’s mysteries. All we have to do is ask and spend time with Him. Jude 1:20-23 gives us a simple path to follow. I believe it is relevant for today’s crazy climate. Currently, the world is facing a pandemic with a virus called COVID-19. Countries have shut down to stop the spread. We are one of those countries.

So what should Christians be doing during this time. Here are some simple truths.

1. Grow in our faith. This is not a time to be overwhelmed with worry but to allow Holy Spirit to increase our faith. Remember faith is like a small mustard seed that once planted grows into a large plant for birds to roost on. Our faith has to reach large plant status during this time. There will  be many around us who will come and desire to be encouraged by our faith branches.

2. Pray with Holy Spirit’s Help. We should be giving up prayers that come from Holy Spirit’s direction. He knows how to pray for the current situations. Simply Pray in the Spirit like never before. Use this time of Social distancing as a time to pray in the Holy Ghost.

3. Remain in God’s love/ Stay close to Jesus. Here is a very simple truth. Keep a close relationship with Jesus. Our prayer rooms should get more use during this time and should stay that way. I know that is something I personally have to work on. I pray with unceasing fervor but I need more of those quite times with Holy Spirit.

4. Show Mercy to the doubters. Here is where our large plant faith comes into play. While the world is going crazy; we can share God’s hope, grace, love, and mercy. This one verse kind of destroys all those wonderful preachers who are declaring God’s judgement has come. Hmmmm.

5. Saves others by snatching them from the fire of Hell.  This is a pretty bold statement. Bold is the word for the day. We have to be bold during this time and just preach Jesus and show Jesus. This means we have to get out from our four walls of our glorious Church buildings we have built and go into the unfavorable places and preach and show Jesus.

Please meditate on these truths and allow Holy Spirit to speak to you during this time.
