Psalm 53:1-6 GW For the choir director; according to mahalath, a maskil by David. Godless fools say in their hearts, \”There is no God.\” They are corrupt. They do disgusting things. There is no one who does good things. (2) God looks down from heaven on Adam\’s descendants to see if there is anyone who acts wisely, if there is anyone who seeks help from God. (3) Everyone has fallen away. Together they have become rotten to the core. No one, not even one person, does good things. (4) Are all those troublemakers, those who devour my people as if they were devouring food, so ignorant that they do not call on God? (5) There they are-panic-stricken- but there was no reason to panic, because God has scattered the bones of those who set up camp against you. You put them to shame. After all, God has rejected them. (6) If only salvation for Israel would come from Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice. Israel will be glad.
The Living God looks down from His high, exalted realm upon the sinful race of human beings and finds not one person to be found worthy. We are all corrupt and bound to disgusting deeds. There is no one ,who does good things, can compare to the goodness of our King. We lack wisdom and declare idiocracy as our means of intelligent jargon. We are in desperate need of a Savior. Not just any Savior but a Savior birthed and formed through the divinity of the supreme creator. Psalm 53 reminds us all that we need Jesus. Scripture declares that EVERYONE has fallen away and EVERYONE is rotten to the core. This passage of scripture is humbling and gives the reader a swift kick of reality. Humankind has to come to this realization. We can never be good or righteous within our own power or being. That is like stating that a new born baby can jump from birth to driving a car. It is a ridiculous statement, but in spiritual reality we are still babies who need our Father God to take care of us.
Here is the simply truth. Children of Adam need the Second Adam who has come to save us all. We need Jesus. Always and forever!!! This truth has never changed from its conception till today.
