Zep 3:9-11 GW \”Then I will give all people pure lips to worship the LORD and to serve him with one purpose. (10) From beyond the rivers of Sudan my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring my offering. (11) On that day you will no longer be ashamed of all your rebellious acts against me. Then I will remove your arrogance and never again will you act proud on my holy mountain.
There is a time, in the not so distance future, that the world will truly follow the Lord. Every nation will bow their knees and raise their voices to the living God. God\’s word is very clear that our Savior will return and purge the world of total evil. It was God\’s eternal plan since before our existence.
So what should we do? What is our purpose before the Living God fully fulfills His purpose in the world?
Well our purpose has not change since Jesus commissioned it some 2000 years ago. We are to go into all the world and make disciples. We are to prepare the world for the coming tide. Disciples make disciples. Our life is all about being mentored and mentoring others. It is about surrounding to selfish desires and helping others.
There are a few lessons we can learn from this passage above. We can learn for ourselves and then prepare others. Below is the break down.
Lessons from Zephaniah 3:9-13:
1. He will give all people pure lips to worship.
a. Before anyone gets offended and think that the Lord is going to force the world to worship Him; lets look deep into this verse. First He will give all people PURE LIPS. Every person on the planet will speak the same heavenly designed language. We will with one voice call upon the name of Lord and declare his glory with pure hearts. The Hebrew word for PURE is Barar which means to be polished or purged from all filthy things. When the world goes through this holy cleansing, every person on the planet will be so overwhelmed by God\’s generous and gracious love that they will instinctively and with open hearts worship Him. This is the meaning of pure lips which will worship Him. We can prepare the world for this type of intense worship by revealing the Love of Christ to them through our daily actions. We can prepare them by making sure we are prepared first. Do we worship Him with Pure lips? Is the Body of Christ worshiping the Lord with one Voice and one Holy Language? How can we? Simple, never turn our eyes from off of Him. Lay aside selfish ambitions when we come together and worship. Push aside emotions or the feel good experiences and simply worship the Holy One.
2. We will serve Him with one purpose.
a. This is something we can walk in now. Remember we are training for reigning. We don\’t start serving Him when we reach eternity. We serve Him now and prepare the world for this service. Our Service to Him intensifies when we cross over to infinity which is so important to walk in this service to Him now. Our service is worship and our worship is service.
3. We will bring all our offerings to the Living God.
a. Our Minchah will be pleasant before the Lord. Minchah is the Hebrew word used for offering in this passage. It means to bring a sacrificial offering to the Lord. Sacrificial offering is not a dictated offering like seen by people who are commanded by their false gods to bring an offering. Our offering to the Lord is from a free heart and from a passionate mindset. We fully desire to surrender all to Him. Our Minchah should be polished today and shown to others; so we can prepare the world for the coming transformation.
4. The enemy can no longer condemn us for our sins against God.
a. One day all guilt and all condemnation will be destroyed from the world. The Living God will wipe away all of our rebellious acts and we will come before Him with humble hearts. Pride and arrogance will be thrown out. We will worship Him with clean hearts on His holy mountain and do so without remorse. Today we can prepare for this completed work of Christ. Today we can walk in His freedom and disciple others to do the same. Freedom was bought with a price at Calvary. To not accept it now would be blasphemous.
We are preparing for what is to come. What will our Lord find when He does return? Will He find a people who have sat on the side lines and simply waited for Him to return? Will He find a people who are passionately in love with Him and who are discipling others to do the same? Jesus never told us to be overwhelmed about His return. In fact, He made it clear for us to simply DO HIS WORK until His return. Are we in constant preparedness for our Lord\’s explosive reentrance into the world? Are we passionately preparing others through discipleship and sharing His truth? The Coming World Conversion started with Jesus and ends with Jesus. What we do in-between is very vital to this Kingdom truth.
